Isn't the soul the daughter in this analogy...
...and the body the son-in-law (tied to the "laws" of the universe, i.e. not a real son.

So...the requests of the body for the soul are indeed precious. But the body's own needs are no less important...

Chana, This story of the Nudgy Guests made me cry. I was all ready to hear about just the opposite reaction.

thanks so much for this. I try to pray and thank G-d every day, usually twice a day. I often feel that i am a "nudge"in my prayers.i say the Amidah, and often add requests. They are usually for my family and all of the people and creatures that need help. for health and well-being for all. And most of all: I THANK G-d! For all of His gifts to us all. Every bird, every sky, every plant and all of the children and beasts and people. Also I am so thankful for the Rabbis and Rebbitzins who are so kind, and for Chabad.
